"The Amber Palace or Amer Fort is truly worth visiting. In the evenings around 6:30-7pm they also have a light and sound show that takes place. I would highly recommend visiting early in the morning or towards the evening as its super hot during the day and if you would like to hike up the fort like I did, a cooler temperature would be easier. However there are also jeeps/vehicles for 2-4$ one way to take you up the fort and bring you back down. This can take an entire day almost to visit the fort, the sheesh mahal is truly breathtaking. They have a lovely restaurant 1135 AD at the fort which is worth a meal especially at night, its super romantic and you can see the entire city of jaipur from the top. On the way down from the fort the tour vehicles will all stop midway at a touristy mall with lots of Indian arts and artefacts- this can easily take 2-3 hours and if you would like to buy something local make sure to negotiate the prices. Another rule of thumb ask the vehicles to take you to the step well behind the fort first or you may miss it and it's truly beautiful and worth visiting. "

"š° It's the biggest fort we've ever visited. It takes a couple of hours to explore properly. There's even a "secret" tunnel to the nearby Jaigarh fort, although it was unfortunately closed during our visit. We recommend carrying a lot of water with you and applying loads of sunscreen.
š NB: Although the elephants that transport tourists to the fort offer a unique sight, they are victims of severe mistreatment. Luckily, you can also walk up there on foot, which takes only 5 minutes. And don't worry, the walkway is mostly seperated from the elephant trail so the chance of you getting crushed by an elephant is pretty small."
