"Does it feel like you've been going nonstop since you arrived in Mývatn? The hikes, the tours, and the late-night searches for the northern lights are fun, but, if you're being honest, also exhausting. It's time to do something that's purely relaxing.
The Mývatn Nature Baths are a lagoon that harnesses the area's geothermal activity to create the perfect outdoor bathing spot. The man-made lagoon has a sandy bottom. Its warm, milky-blue water is full of minerals and silicates. It even has a swim-up bar. While inside, there are showers, steam baths, and a café.
Notes:
1) Tickets can be booked online in advance.
2) New Year's Day is the only day the baths are closed.
3) If you're hoping to avoid the crowds, go first thing in the morning or later at night. The baths are open until midnight May through September."

"The Mývatn Nature Baths is a geothermal spa located in the Mývatn area of northern Iceland. It's a popular spot for visitors to relax and soak in the warm geothermally heated waters while enjoying the beautiful views of the surrounding area.
The baths are built on the side of a lava field and consist of several interconnected pools of varying temperatures. The hottest pool reaches up to 40°C (104°F), while the cooler pools are perfect for relaxing. There is also a steam room and a sauna on-site.
The water in the Mývatn Nature Baths is rich in minerals, which are said to have therapeutic benefits for the skin and body. Many people visit the baths to relax and soak in the warm water after a day of exploring the geothermal wonders of the area."

"A place where the earth's raw energy is evident at large, we found ourselves instantly drawn to the local culture and the natural beauty that surrounded us.
Myvatn Nature Baths is more than just a thermal spa, it's a testament to the geological wonders of Iceland. As we soaked in the warm, mineral-rich waters, we could see the sun setting over the lava fields, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. It was an experience that felt as surreal as our road trip to Lake Myvatn today."
