"Gion is the famous Geisha district, as well as one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Kyoto. This charming neighborhood stands out for its wooden houses with low roofs and the famous tea rooms where geisha and maiko (apprentices) entertain their guests with shows. You should not think that it is possible to find geisha on every corner, but it can happen. You will certainly notice the crowds of tourists intent on photographing them first! However, it is not always certain that it is a real geisha, in many cases in fact you will be faced with a "fake" geisha who loves to be photographed by tourists.
👣How to get there: reachable on foot from Metro Station Higashiyama, Tozai line.
🎟️Ticket cost: free"
