When to go to Kyoto?

As in Tokyo and Kyoto and in every city in Japan, the most beautiful and magical period is during the cherry blossom season, Sakura in Japanese, or during the autumn leaf season. The spring months ranging from March to May and the autumn season ranging from September to November are the periods chosen by most people to visit Japan and therefore much more expensive. The low season months are what could be defined as "intermediate": February, March, October, early November. So if you want to save, book in these months!

How to get around Kyoto?

Many think that Kyoto is a small, quiet city that is easy to get around on foot. ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Walking, obviously, will offer you the advantage of savoring the true essence and atmosphere of Kyoto but sooner or later you will have to resort to public transport! the most effective transport in Kyoto is the bus because even if it takes longer and most of the time you will find them packed, unlike the metro it will take you to every point of the city. The metro, however, includes the Karasuma Line which connects the north part with the south part, while the Tozai Line goes from east to west. Being made up of only two lines you can therefore imagine that it doesn't get everywhere.

So, personally, I advise you to use the metro as long as you can and then either continue on foot or if the distance is still too long, use the bus!
