St. George's Basilica

"St. George Basilica, located within the grounds of Prague Castle, is the second oldest church in Prague, founded in 920. Despite its ancient origins, the current appearance of the basilica reflects several historical transformations, particularly after the destructive fire in 1142 that necessitated reconstruction in the Romanesque style. When you visit, you'll notice the thick, robust walls that evoke its early history, alongside exhibits of Bohemian Gothic, Rudolfian, and Baroque artblished by Prince Vratislav, the basilica served as a place of worship and later became a convent for Benedictine nuns.
