"Unlike back home, the highlight of everyone's week in Puerto is Sunday — starting with the weekly Punta Vida BBQ.
From 4PM, locals and travellers gather for beach volleyball just outside this abandoned-hostel-turned-bar, hanging out until the sun goes down. If you'd rather skip the sand, grab a spot in the bar a couple of floors up for fantastic views. Just after the sun sets, everyone heads into the bar area and dinner is served — a delicious BBQ of chicken or a veggie tamale, herby potatoes and coleslaw, for 150MXN.
At around 9PM people hit the dancefloor (literally the sandy beach), with Puerto's top DJs on the decks until 11PM, when everyone heads to Isha for Puerto Disco Society's weekly residency. My favourite night out for sure. "
