What people say

"People love it—it's not my personal favorite but the most hyped hostel in the area. The dorms are great, with beds designed for privacy. The pool area is beautiful, and they have a tattoo parlor, bar, and delicious food. Sometimes, they even have live music. However, keep in mind that the currents in this area are very strong, so swimming is not recommended."
"A popular backpacker destination for surfing and partying. Costeno Beach does not have an actual town, just a collection of hostels and beach huts. If you enjoy quiet beach vibes and drinks on the beach after sunset, this is the place for you! "
"Big beachfront spot. Good parties/social vibe at night. Lots of hammocks. Food is solid. Perfect for chilling/drinking on the beach for a couple days. On the expensive side."

Tag us in your planning and travels so we can see your experiences in this amazing country! @EricandSarah_ *Full transparency: this is not an ultra-budget guide. We include a range of free to paid activities in each place, a variety of restaurant options and mid-range priced accommodations (mostly Airbnbs). It's based on our own travel style which we'd consider "medium budget" - we like to save money but are also willing to splurge on certain comforts and activities. We believe there is valuable information for any type of traveller though!
