" Glymur is the second highest waterfall in Iceland and includes a wonderful hike with incredible scenery. This hike is a true adventure: starts flat, have to cross a river by walking on a log, and then becomes more challenging.  Time:  2-3 hours round trip Rating: 5/5 Crowds: moderate Vehicle: all accessible. Parking: medium-sized lot - free to park Amenities: none Seasonal: Not accessible during the winter months, as the remove the log to cross the river. Also during the spring when the glaciers are melting, the river can be higher meaning the log is submerged. Bring a change of footwear. Pro-tip: You can do this hike down and out, or you can cross the waterfall at the top and hike back around the other side! Of course be very careful when attempting this, but it is possible."

"Glymur is Iceland’s second-tallest waterfall and the tallest that is easily accessible by foot. The hike to Glymur is largely through nature and will take you through interesting sites, such as the cave of Thvottahellir. After hiking for a while, you'll reach a point where you need to cross the river over a log with the assistance of a rope. The log is only there from spring to autumn, so do not attempt to cross the river in the wintertime. Once you've crossed the river, the trail continues by ascending the canyon. This part of the hike involves some steep and rocky sections, so make sure to wear sturdy shoes and use caution. As you climb higher, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the river below."

"We spontaneously did this hike. It's the second tallest waterfall in Iceland. The hike was really fun. We really didn't know what we were getting into, but we had read about it the day before, and decided to do it. It's pretty steep with some fun ropes and a fun river crossing. The views were amazing at the top, it definitely surpassed all expectations. PHOTO TIP: The best spots for photos are not the viewpoints at the top, rather about halfway up where you can get amazing views of the waterfall."
