" Just up the road from Öndverðarnes, you will run into these orange lighthouses that guard the shore. But another draw is the sea cliffs - a fantastic bird watching spot and possibly spot a whale surfacing in summer. Time: 15 minutes Rating: 3/5 Crowds: few Vehicle: accessible with 2wd, but it's a very bumpy road and is not maintained in the winter so I wouldn't risk attempting it November-March. Parking: small lots - you can walk between the two but I suggest driving. Amenities: none"

"Svörtuloft marks the westernmost point on the Snæfellsnes peninsula. It's hard to miss the bright orange lighthouse. The tall, concrete building was built in 1931 along a four-kilometer, black-lava cliff. There's now a wooden walking path and picnic tables, as well. Expect lots of seabirds and, if you're lucky, a puffin sighting. Be sure to take in the 360-degree view."

"This lighthouse is a perfect spot for photographers, as the location where it is and the orange color combined can be really impressive.
The cliffs are the best of this spot and I had the chance to photograph a seabird from very close. "
