"At the moment Tulum is the go-to place for tourists of any kind in the Yucutan Peninsula, it attracts all kinds of people from the big party goers to the more relaxed, chilled yogis and everyone in between.
It’s a place with heaps to do and I loved it because I made so many friends here and could also experience each different side to Tulum and I loved experiencing all the unique places to go and things to do.
Do bare in mind that Tulum is not cheap though, and there is either the town of Tulum or the beach side to Tulum. The town side to Tulum is ever so slightly cheaper than that of the beach, because of this, some may choose to stay in town and if going to the beach get a taxi (around 15/20 minutes) or cycling (it can get a bit hot to do this).
When I was in Tulum I stayed both in town and on the beach to experience both sides of things and I stayed in some unique and amazing places there which I have saved for you.
I felt completely safe in Tulum however I am aware people may not as it’s the main “luxury” tourist destination and you hear of stories where the police may take your driving license if they see you driving / cycling in the wrong area for example, so to avoid things like this I always took a taxi / walked to places if needs be.
Tulum is a great time where you’ll meet friends and it is worth researching what is happening in the area when you’re going, I had some great beach festivals in the area when I went. I’ll link the best pages to do this research for you! "

"Tulum is a popular destination on the Mayan Riviera for digital nomads looking for a more spiritual & artistic beach destination.
The downside of living here is that the internet can be really slow. There is less infrastructure than in Playa del Carmen, and there is less available housing-wise, which makes it more expensive. I don't think it's as good for remote working, so unless you're set on Tulum, I recommend staying in the more urban and suburban areas and then taking weekend trips to Tulum."

"The ruins are amazing 🤩
The beach is large, the sea crazy blue.
There are a lot of nice restaurants: expensive at the hotels by the beach but very beautiful at least to have a drink or restaurant in the city (cheap) very good also! We did both (as we always try to mix during our travels to not blow our budget)
You can park quite easily in the city, but not at the hotels by the beach. "
