Hirschgarten

"The Hirschgarten is a unique and quirky stop offering your typical Munich beer garden experience, with the added bonus of deer! Along with being situated within a massive park, this beer garden is perfect for children and children at heart. A real locals family beer garden. For those of you who are still a little, understandably, confused the German word ‘Hirsch’ translates to deer and the Hirschgarten definitely delivers with its large deer enclosure nearby. Snag the prime seating which shares a wall with the deer section, for a truly unique beer garden experience. OK, maybe don’t sit righttt next to the enclosure, as these deer kind of smell. Rather, I usually opt to sit in the centre of the seating area, taking breaks from drinking and eating to walk over and admire the deer. This beer garden can feel a little large and intimidating, but just remember that it’s the largest beer garden in Munich! It is also self service and CASH ONLY. This is also an excellent stop after a day spent exploring the nearby Nymphenburg Palace and Botanical Gardens. "
