Christopher Shontz
"We found this campground on the Dyrt app, and it's very charming and well-kept, just a couple of miles from the lighthouse at Pemaquid Point, in coastal Maine. It's a short gravel loop, consisting of sites for all manner of tents and RVs. There is a restroom with running water and private shower rooms. Water, sewer, and electrical hook-ups. It's a great place to experience coastal Maine, within a short drive from Damariscotta, a small town with a number of interesting looking dining opportunities. The campground is about an hour north of Portland, and a few hours south of Bar Harbor, so if you're looking for a somewhat lesser-known stretch of Maine coast, this is a great option. It's also close to Pemaquid Seafood, which was a delicious highlight to our visit! We'd recommend Pemaquid Point Campground, and stay here again. While it isn't on the water, it's close enough to hear an occasional fog horn, or to experience coastal mist as it blows across the peninsula. Very lovely and atmospheric!"
