"I used to live in this quaint town of 2000 people in the Westfjords. It's a perfect jump off point for outdoorsy activities with small town amenities.
Have brunch at Bubbly or the neighboring bakery, go for a walk around town or one one of the nature paths behind the avalanche barriers, try a hot dog at the N1, grab a beer at the only local brewery, have lunch at Heimabyygð, and check out the shops, and have dinner at whatever restaurant you like.
If its summer, stay up late to catch the sunset and if its winter and the conditions are agreeable, go to the edge of town to see some northern lights. "

"Ísafjörður is my favorite town in Iceland. I've been there twice, and both times I felt like the West fjords are of the most beautiful and pure regions of the country. It is a small village, but what you can visit just few hours away from town is incredible. "
