Nally Preseault
"The restaurant scene in Ponta Delgada is heating up. For sushi lovers, one spot stands alone at the top of the list. It's Õtaka. The small restaurant actually serves Nikkei cuisine, which is a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian. The seafood is all Azorean, though. Once you choose between two tasting menus (seven or ten courses), artful plates start appearing from the kitchen. Tuna tartare. Usuzukuri. O-toro temaki. Shrimp tempura. Azorean old dairy cow beef. Azorean Stingray. Pineapple cheesecake. Is your mouth watering yet? Be sure to add the thoughtful wine pairing to your meal. One negative: Reservations are only taken by phone. It's worth the call. Seatings: Tuesday - Sunday at 6:30 & 9:30 pm "
