What people say

"The Lost Atlantis Experience Museum in Santorini is a private initiative that promotes Greek heritage, culture and mythology. It is the first museum in the world that gives you the chance to learn everything about the myth of the Lost Atlantis. It is found close to Megalochori village in Santorini, in a fully renovated building that spans 700 sqm (7,500 sq ft). Atlantis is the most famous mythological island of all time. Plato's writings about Atlantis are the only known records of its existence. In his dialogues, Timaeus and Critias, Plato mentions that the mythical city – falling out of favor with the Gods – is submerged into the ocean. There are many different hypotheses about the exact location of the lost city. However, the belief that Santorini was the original location seems to prevail, when considering the Thera eruption. As it caused a massive tsunami, the lost city could have been swallowed in its passing. By visiting this museum you will have the chance to learn everything about the myth of Atlantis and how it is connected to Santorini island. Experience everything from the island’s volcanic eruption and earthquake to the tsunami and the life of Plato, with the use of the latest interactive technologies. Multiple digital installations, like 9D virtual reality, 3D holograms, and dioramas make this experience absolutely unique and fascinating."
"Admission: 14 Euros Interactive exhibits on the mythological sunken city of Atlantis with a movie, diorama, & holograms. "
"Super fun museum and highly interactive, it's short and sweet so a great idea for a stop in a trip down the island."
