What people say

"If you have Croatia on your bucket list, I’m sure that you already know of Plitvice Lakes, or as I like to call it, the waterfall wonderland. If you are a waterfall lover and chaser, then this place will be heaven for you. Plitvice Lakes has over 90 waterfalls and approx. 16 cascading lakes. Plitvice Lakes can be explored in one day and if you are visiting Split, then make sure you put the beautiful natural park on your itinerary. From Split you can book a guided tour that will take you to Plitvice Lakes. If you are looking for the perfect tour, then I suggest you check out the ones below. With the first tour you will have an english-speaking guide, entry ticket to Plitvice Lakes, transportation, panoramic boat trip and insurance. And the second is perfect if you want to explore the park by yourself. Keep in mind that in the second tour the guide and the tickets aren’t included. "
"As as I said above.  It pays to be some of the first people into the park.  You get the place all to yourself and you're the first ones to walk the trails.  You can enjoy the beauty without people all around.  Although honestly I never found the park to be too crowded.  We left for lunch in nearby Rastoke and then came back later in the day when the crowds had left. We really loved seeing the park this way. A ticket for the day varies in cost depending on the season you are visiting.  In low season an adult ticket can cost as low as 10 euro.  In high season as much as 40 euro for the day.  You CAN re enter the park if you leave for lunch or a break (which we did).  There are also prices for different times of day during the high season.  The price lowers after 4pm.  "

"100% worth the visit, Plitvice is absolutely stunning. The national park is huge and you can do many different walks around it. Once again it's slightly over touristic so think about when to visit or times of day. However it's beautiful and hopefully if well planned, you can find a time to visit when it's not so over-crowded. Do bear in mind that a lot of paths are single trail bridges so that will create a "road block" when busy. "
