"The Grand Mosque, a stunning architectural and cultural landmark, was constructed between 1994 and 2007 under the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who aimed to unify the diverse architectural and cultural elements of the Islamic world. Covering over 12 hectares, the mosque’s layout is precisely oriented 12 degrees south of true west to face the Kaaba in Mecca. Sheikh Zayed was laid to rest in the mosque's courtyard following his passing in 2004, adding deep spiritual significance to this monumental space.
