"As the Treasury is the center of the old city of Petra, you will find a lot of different sites quite nearby. As you turn right (turning left is just a trail that leads away from the city to the high place of sacrifice), you will encounter some more impressive façades along with the Nabatean theater - despite appearing to be isolated, the Greeks had quite an influence on this civilization.
A little ways off the trail, you will find several marvelous façades. Unless you elect to complete the hike above the Treasury, you will not encounter these edifices any closer than about a quarter mile away. However, they are quite striking due to their intricacies. These façades are the Royal Tombs.
While we don't actually know if these were tombs, most archeological findings suggest they were. The oldest of the tombs date to around the same timeframe as the Treasury (1st century CE). The façades - signs of wealth and prestige - were designed in a way to be a Nabatean take on Hellenistic architecture seen in the heartland of Greek civilization. While much of the façades have eroded away, these are an impressive set of carvings worth turning your attention to."

"I am not going to lie, the kids were beginning to show signs of fatigue by the time we made it to the Royal Tombs but when we promised this was the last stop they managed to find some extra reserves to get them past the Tombs and back onto the Street of facades for the journey back through The Siq and lunch.
