Chelsea Papa
"A favorite boutique option. With dramatic green marble walls, Gio Ponti furniture, and an art deco honor bar, this seven-room guest house in Milan is intimate and decadent, sophisticated and quintessentially Italian. Its not in the thick of Quadrilatero della Moda for designer shopping, but it's located on one of the city's most famous and central streets, a good base for exploring in this eternally chic town. Note there are no windows in the rooms, just skylights.
Area: Corso Genova, at walking distance from Navigli and Duomo.
Rooms: 7 rooms with no adjoining possibilities. One room can be made into a triple.
Amenities: Small gym.
Feel: Homely and hidden away from the bustling city center.
Notes: Service is attentive and personalized. Same owners as Castello di Vicarello in Tuscany."
