What people say

Nally Preseault
"After leaving Reykjavík and its suburbs, Hveragerði is the first town you'll reach as you head south along the Ring Road. Hot-spring Yard sits at the southern base of Hengill, a table mountain and active volcano. Thanks to that ongoing volcanic activity, Hveragerði is known for its frequent--though usually minor--earthquakes and hot springs. Water flows into town on the Varmá (Warm River). That water is used to heat the town's houses and greenhouses. Come to Hveragerði for the modern art museum, hiking trails, and thermal bathing. Stay for a brewery, a food hall, and new hotels."
