"Step back in time and experience one of the most unique sites in the Napa Valley--a forest of fossilized redwoods caused by the explosion of Mt. Saint Helena 3.4 million years ago.
This is a great family-friendly, pet-friendly spot to visit. We've taken family and friends here on several occasions.
Here's what you need to know:
-It takes most people 45 minutes to 1 hour to walk the trail.
-It's a moderate walk, but it's best to wear comfortable shoes with good tread. Hiking shoes are ideal.
-Check the website for the latest hours, but as of this writing, it's open Thursday through Monday (10 a.m.- 5 p.m.)
-Yes, there are restrooms available.
-There is a small gift shop with some unique items for sale, like shark teeth and fossils.
