What people say

"This castle on the hill was built between 1887 and 1890 for Robert Dunsmuir, one of Western Canada's wealthiest and most influential men. Unfortunately, he never had the chance to live in it, for he died one year before completion. After his wife died in 1908, the estate passed through several owners and served several uses, including a military hospital, a college and a music conservatory. In 1979, a private non-profit group was founded to restore the castle to its former glory. And today, as visitors wander through the many floors, they get a glimpse of how the wealthy lived in the late 1800s. It's one of my favourite places to visit. Admission rates apply. 👻 Some believe Robert Dunsmuir and his family members haunt the halls of his castle. Visitors and staff have reported several reports of paranormal activity. "
