"From there, you can see the entire village, the dramatic cliffs, and the sparkling Mediterranean below—it’s breathtaking.
This garden was created after WWII, in the ruins of a fortress demolished in 1706 by the soldiers of Louis XIV. It’s located on Eze's highest point and offers stunning panoramic views of the region, particularly of Saint Jean Bay and Cap Ferrat. It’s one of the most impressive places I’ve ever been.
It also has a large collection of cacti and similar plants. It actually inspired me to keep a collection of my own in my front yard, and some of the species I own now were copied from here! A small cactus or a succulent can be a wonderful souvenir, and there are many shops nearby, including in Nice, that sell many varieties. Just make sure that your local regulations don’t pose any objections about bringing plants from other countries.
Tickets can be purchased online or on-site. Full tickets cost 8€, but there are reduced fares for students and people under 18. Tickets are free for children over 12 and disabled people.

"The garden's story began in 1949 when André Gianton, the mayor of Èze at the time, envisioned creating a unique garden amidst the ruins of a medieval castle. With the help of Jean Gastaud, who was instrumental in developing the Monaco Exotic Garden, they embarked on an ambitious project to cultivate a garden specifically suited to the region's arid climate and steep terrain. What resulted was a groundbreaking concept of a terraced garden built into the cliffside.
Today, Le Jardin Exotique d'Eze houses a vast collection of over 1200 plant species, with a particular focus on cacti and succulents from all over the world. These resilient plants, adapted to thrive in dry conditions, flourish in the sunny Mediterranean climate. Wandering through the terraced gardens, you'll encounter a diverse array of cacti, agaves, aloes, yuccas, and other exotic flora, all meticulously arranged for a visually stunning display."

"Not to be missed! This succulent garden is SO cool (especially if you like plants/cacti), and that aside, you get the MOST stunning views of literally the entire Cote d'Azur on a clear day. Truly incredible.

Pro Tip: buy a ticket from one of the kiosks to skip the line at the top. There is a kiosk between where the bus drops you off and just as you approach Eze Village, and another kiosk in Eze Village.
Expect to spend 45 minutes - 2 hours here, depending on how leisurely you want to admire the plants, soak up the views, take all the pictures, or rest in some of the meditation areas. "
