"Lunchtime equals soup time in Vík. That makes the Soup Company (Súpufélagið), a perfect stop midday stop, particularly when it's cold and windy outside. The family-owned restaurant serves four types of soup: red hot lava in a bread bowl, Icelandic lamb, curry fish, and vegan cauliflower and corn. Freshly baked bread comes with all of them except the bread bowl. Plus two salads and pastas have been added to the menu for those who claim they don't like soup. If you're somehow still hungry when you finish your soup, second helpings--plus as much bread and butter as you can handle--are included. Note: The restaurant shares a building with the Lava Show."

"They are a small family owned restaurant, located in the heart of Vík í Mýrdal, Iceland. They serve various sorts of delicious soups and pasta dishes. We, of course offer freshly baked bread and desserts as well. They started our company because we simply love soups. They come from a large family and throughout the years we have gathered on cold rainy days over hot soup, It's a family tradition and just like in our family, they don't let anyone leave hungry.. That's why they offer a second serving on all of our soups and as much bread and butter you can eat! You must try the Lava Soup! "
