"Also on your way to/from Landmannalaugar you find the valley of tears. It requires a short, flat hike of about 15-20 mins from a small parking lot to get to the canyon. PHOTO TIP For the best photos you want light to actually hit these north facing waterfalls in the morning and evening hours. Note that you can only shoot from the south side of the canyon, so the best place to position yourself with a view on the array of waterfalls is at the bend furthest south of the canyon. You have a nice view into the canyon from there and possibly want to use a standard zoom. With bracketing you can capture the vista with the river in the canyon in the foreground, the flowing line of the waterfalls, and the glowing sunset sky. "
"EN: Sigöldugljúfur, also known as valley of tears, is a canyon close to the highlands. Pssst...we actually weren't allowed to go there with the car we had booked. ;) But we did it anyway. The road was pretty rocky but manageable. DE: Sigöldugljúfur, auch als Tal der Tränen bekannt, ist eine Schlucht in der Nähe der Hochlande. Pssst... eigentlich durften wir mit dem gebuchten Auto nicht dorthin fahren. ;) Aber wir haben es trotzdem gemacht. Die Straße war ziemlich steinig, aber machbar."
"The Sigöldugljúfur Canyon, also known as the "Valley of Tears," is a relatively small canyon with a series of powerful waterfalls, mesmerizing turquoise pools, volcanic landscapes, and lush vegetation."
