Logan Faure
"I initially had a less-than-great experience here, not terrible, but just a bit off. Then, a local foodie urged me to give it another try, and I understood why she insisted. Ulekan is a rare gem in this area, offering elevated Indonesian cuisine, which, as expected from HOME by Chef Wayan and DAPOER, is hard to find. While it's true that authentic Balinese flavors are often found in warungs, from time to time, it's also delightful to explore a more delicate version of it. Start with the roasted clams, gado-gado (veggies with peanut sauce), and perkadel jagung (crispy sweet corn fritters). Then, go for the skewers, both chicken and king mackerel, with urap urap (young papaya leaf) and eggplant rendang (slow-cooked ragout) on the side."
