"A little island, which looks like a teardrop, sits in the southwest corner of Lake Bled. Bled Island (Blejski otok) is made of dolomite. It's covered with shrubs and trees. Plus it has 99 stone steps up to its buildings, including the Church of the Assumption of Mary. To visit the island, you must board a pletna. They're the traditional wooden boats--with flat bottoms and colorful awnings--that crisscross the turquoise water. Once you dock, you can walk the perimeter of the island along the edge of the water or climb the steps to the bell tower, the church, and the wishing bell. There's a cafe with outdoor seating--get a cold drink as you wait for the next departing pletna--as well. Expect the whole trip (the roundtrip boat ride and exploring the island) to take about two hours."

"This island can be found in most photos of Slovenia! It is a super small island with a church and a medieval castle located right on it that you can visit yourself. You can visit by renting a boat (it won't be hard to find a tour operator via manual or motor boat around the Lake) and spend some time strolling the island and making a stop at their souvenir shop. Lake Bled is very touristy in general so expect costs around every corner. "
