Theodore Roosevelt National Park

"Theodore Roosevelt National Park is a stunning and diverse landscape that honors to the conservation efforts of the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt. The park is divided into three units: the North Unit, the South Unit, and the Elkhorn Ranch Unit. The park is known for its rugged badlands, mixed-grass prairies, and abundant wildlife. It features colorful rock formations, deep canyons, and rolling hills that offer a glimpse into the natural beauty of the American Great Plains. Wildlife thrives in the park, including bison, wild horses, elk, deer, prairie dogs, and numerous bird species. The North Unit is characterized by its more rugged and remote terrain, offering trails and viewpoints that showcase the unique badlands landscape. The South Unit is more accessible and visited, featuring the Painted Canyon with its vibrant layers of rock. This is where I spent my time when I visited. The Elkhorn Ranch Unit, located between the North and South units, preserves the site where Theodore Roosevelt had his ranch and spent time in the wilderness."
