"Umm Al Emarat Park, formerly known as Mushrif Park, is a prominent urban park located in Abu Dhabi, UAE, strategically situated on 15th Street between Airport Road and Karamah Street. Since its opening in 1982, the park has transformed from a space exclusively accessible to women and children to a welcoming environment for all visitors. With a commitment to education, the park has hosted over 80,000 students through partnerships with 400 schools across the UAE, aiming to instill knowledge about the country's ecosystem, heritage, and wildlife. The park's design pays homage to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, reflecting his vision of preserving the cultural and natural history of the UAE. The design was executed by the US engineering firm S. A. Miro, Inc., guiding the project from concept to completion. In recognition of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the park was renamed Umm Al Emarat Park, honoring her contributions as Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union and her advocacy for family development and childhood. Umm Al Emarat Park features a variety of facilities that enhance the visitor experience. It boasts a 1,200-meter running track and an amphitheater that hosts outdoor concerts, movie screenings, cultural performances, and community events. The park is also home to numerous restaurants and food trucks, contributing to its vibrant atmosphere, including an annual food festival that attracts global and local culinary talent alongside musical performances. Adding to its family-friendly appeal, the park includes a petting zoo showcasing native animals such as camels, ponies, rabbits, tortoises, pygmy goats, and emus, providing an interactive experience for children and adults alike.
