"Such a striking castle that dates back to the 15th century. However, there has been evidence of the Picts living on the rock in around 5000BC.
Random fact- In 1593 the Earl brought a real life lion to the castle and kept in a lions den.
Later in the mid 1640's war between England and Scotland the castle plays a vital role in the safekeeping of the Scottish crown jewels, the Honours of Scotland.
Entrance is £11.50 (adult) and can purchased on the day. Parking is available at the castle. "

"This castle on the cliffside is SO cool and a great place to explore. If you're interested in visiting the castle make sure to explore it during open hours, but if you just want to explore the grounds and see it from the outside (its still super impressive) you can pull up whenever. "
