"The Chiesa del Gesù is a church in Rome, Italy. It is the mother church of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), and is one of the most important churches in the history of the Catholic Church.
The church was built in the 16th century, and was designed by the architect Giacomo della Porta. The facade of the church is decorated with statues of saints and angels, and the interior of the church is decorated with paintings and sculptures by some of the most important artists of the 16th century, including Giovanni Battista Gaulli and Ludovico Cigoli."

"The mother church of the Society of Jesus. Its façade is the first truly baroque façade, introducing the baroque style into architecture. Built in the 16th century, the church served as a model for many Jesuit churches all over the world, above all its paintings, nave and side chapels. The frescoed ceiling is one of the most mesmerising artworks I’ve seen in Rome."

"Look up! This church is known for its extraordinary ceiling, painted by Baciccia to fool the eye into feeling like the church opens into the heavens. This church is also prime example of Baroque architecture, has several important relics, and was the first Jesuit church in Rome. "
