Béke gong

"The installation is a gift from Indonesia to the city of Gödöllő. It is the 5th in the world and the one and only monument in Europe, which can be rung by anyone, expressing their desire for peace. In the center there is the blue globe, surrounded by the symbols of the main world religions followed by the flags of the countries of the Earth. In memory of the victims of the bombing on the island of Bali in 2002, the Indonesian World Peace Committee created this work (with several copies), which have since been erected in different parts of the world. The gong is 2 meters in diameter, weighs 150 kilograms, and is the work of an Indonesian sculptor (Djuyoto Suntani). Our country received this offer in recognition of its civilizational and economic-technological progress, as well as the successful implementation of peaceful social relations.   "
