What people say

"Nestled amidst the towering buildings of central London, St Dunstan in the East Church has endured the ravages of time. Originally constructed around 1100, the church saw a new south aisle added in 1391. It was repaired in 1631, but suffered severe damage during the Great Fire of London in 1666. Further destruction occurred during the Blitz (1940–1941), after which it was decided not to rebuild, leaving only the north and south walls standing. In 1967, the City of London Corporation transformed the church's ruins into a public garden, which opened to the public in 1971. The ruins tell a story of resilience—both beautiful and tragic. Today, the garden offers a peaceful retreat, where Londoners often relax with a coffee or enjoy their lunch breaks."
