"Fosslaugh ended up being one of the hidden gems we visited during our trip. There is plenty of parking and bathrooms are available as well. The lot is on private property and there is a 5 ISK parking fee and a small fee for the bathrooms as well--collected via honor system through self service collection boxes. After parking, you walk through the gate and walk down the path for about 10 minutes before coming across the waterfall. You can admire the waterfall from that side, and then continue walking to the left around to the other side. Once you reach the other side you will also find an amazing thermal pool right next to the river at the top of the waterfall. You can swim in the pool (it's just as hot, if not hotter than a hot tub!) and walk up further to look over the top of the waterfall.
Cost: Free
Parking: Paid parking for 5 ISK is available right next to the facilities in the lot at the end of the road before the gate. Fee payment is honor system with a collection box next to the gate you walk through to reach the path toward the waterfall "

"This is a free hot spring. It was absolutely beautiful, but pretty crowded. It's very popular amongst the locals. It was very hot, so bring a towel and some water. It's a short walk from the parking lot, about 10 minutes. It's in a beautiful area that's super secluded. There's a river next to it, so if you get too hot you can jump in there.
Photo Tip: Shoot towards the river for the best views of the hot springs."

"2. Reykjafoss stop
- nice, pretty waterfall, available parking and toilets - voluntary fee
- a short walk to the waterfall (approx. 15 minutes)
- quite a lot of tourists, but a large area overlooking the waterfall (view from the mountain), so the number of people did not matter that much
- the waterfall is not that high, rather wider. "
