"Black sand beach with bright green grass hills, and an iconic mountain backdrop. I am personally in love with this place. It's a little bit out of the way, but if it's a clear day it's a beautiful sight.
Views: This is a big area so you can walk around as little or as much as you’d like. Closer to the bay you can see the reflection of the mountain in the water, further down the beach is where you start seeing the mounds with green grass.
Pro-tip: Incredible at sunrise! If its a foggy day and you can’t see the mountains, definitely skip this stop, as most of the point is to see the mountain set behind the beach.
More info: After the beach, walk down to the Viking Village to see the remains of an old Icelandic establishment. This was also used as a set for a movie.
50 to 90 minutes to explore."

"Vestrahorn, on the Stokksnes peninsula in Southeast Iceland, is one of the country’s most breathtaking mountains.
Its peaks reach up to 454 meters (1490 ft), steep cliffs rising from the sides of a stunning lagoon, and black sand beaches all around.
Vestrahorn is a natural wonder amongst natural wonders, and a great place to experience the isolated, quiet, beautiful charm of this island.
Before you reach this beautiful beach, there is a small viking village with ships and all kinds of viking houses.
Stokksnes beach is private and has a small entrance fee (per car)."

"This is one of the most popular areas for photographers to visit. We recommend going for sunrise, but sunset is also great if you can't get up that early. It's one of the most cloudy parts of Iceland. Sadly, we did not get to experience a crazy sunrise here due to the clouds, but still had a beautiful morning
Entrance Fee: There is an entrance fee of about $7.50 USD. "
