"The original train station, which a smaller version of the Sao Bento station has been recently renovated and is incredible. If you arrive by train you will walk out of the new train station and literally run right into the side of the old station. If you come by bus you will be on the other side of the tracks and need to walk through the new station to get to the main street - Avenida Dr Lourenço Peixinho.
The outside of the station has hundreds of tiles that depict Portuguese life including professions, daily life, famous people of the region and landscapes. You can also take a look inside the building when open. It is part educational/info center and part souvenir shop.
