"This is the speakeasy bar within Tahona Restaurant in Old Town, San Diego. It has superb cocktails and an occult theme that will delight and surprise you. The interior of this establishment is dark and mysterious, with a focus on the occult and the supernatural. When you go to the entrance of the bar you'll have to walk behind a curtain into the dark and knock on the door. The bartender will open a tiny window in the door and you'll be in there like a confessional where he'll ask what your favorite sin is (mine was gluttony). After you answer you'll be let into the tiny and cozy bar with a dark yet warm atmosphere. Each drink is carefully crafted and presented, with a focus on both taste and visual appeal. The menu features a variety of drinks, including potions, elixirs, and other spooky concoctions. One of the highlights of this bar is the attention to detail in the decor. Everything is carefully crafted to bring an immersive atmosphere. The ambiance is enhanced by the dim lighting and the carefully chosen music, which creates a haunting and mysterious atmosphere. The name Occulto 477 comes from Old Town's historic El Campo Santo Cemetery, which is next door where 477 bodies are buried. Despite the occult theme, the atmosphere of the bar is welcoming and friendly. The bartenders are knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations based on your taste preferences. If you're feeling particularly brave you can roll the dice and get a random drink. You'll roll 3 six-sided dice which will dictate the Spirit, Profile, and Style of the cocktail you'll get. Overall, this occult-themed cocktail bar offers a unique and unforgettable drinking experience. The attention to detail in the decor, combined with the delicious cocktails and friendly atmosphere, make for a perfect night out. Whether you're a fan of the occult or just looking for a unique and memorable drinking experience, this bar is definitely worth checking out. Locals Tip: This is a reservation-only bar. Get a reservation through the website or through Resy. They don't serve food inside so I'd recommend grabbing a reservation at Tahona about an hour before your reservation to Occulto 477 and get food beforehand. "

"My favorite speakeasy in San Diego overall! Incredibly intimate, cozy, with a relaxing atmosphere where you can laugh and joke with the bartenders. They're incredibly talented and I highly recommend to get a dealer's choice where they cook up something special for you! The 'Clarified Tea Punch' with rum, mezcal, Earl Gray tea is a delight. You also must get the 'Hold the Strawtai' which is one of the best tiki drinks I've ever had. "

"A cozy nook inside Old Town mezcaleria Tahona, Oculto 477 puts a modern twist on Prohibition-era drinks. For an even more surprising cocktail, try the Risk It All: roll three dice and see what ingredients they land on — that’ll decide what’s to be mixed in your cup."
