Fener Rum Kız Lisesi

"The Fener Rum Kız Lisesi, also known as the Phanar Greek Girls' High School, is a historic Greek Orthodox school for girls located in the Fener neighborhood of Istanbul, Turkey. The school was founded in 1844 by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. It is the oldest continuously operating girls' school in Turkey. The school was originally housed in a building near the Church of the Holy Virgin Mary Pammakaristos. In 1890, the school moved to its current location on the shores of the Golden Horn. The school has a long and distinguished history. It has educated generations of Greek women, many of whom have gone on to become leaders in their fields."
