What people say

"Find out how people lived before 1714 In the Center of Culture and Memory of the Born, in addition to exhibitions on correfocs (46/101) and temporary exhibitions that change constantly, there is the possibility to discover how people lived in Barcelona before 1714 by looking directly into people's homes. During the construction of the Ciudadella ( the very one that today gives the name to the Park 15/101) a part of the city was almost completely torn to the ground and an esplanade was created between the walls of the fortified city and the city. When it was decided to reconvert the structure of the Born market (which at the time was a wholesale market) it was discovered that it rested on the remains of the medieval city and a permanent exhibition was created. Thanks to the objects found in the abandoned and demolished houses it is possible for us to understand what life was like in Barna in the 18th century."

"Housed in a wonderfully refurbished market hall dating back to 1876 you can stroll through this unique archaeological site, which showcases the remains of Barcelona’s streets that were destroyed after the end of the Spanish War of Succession in 1714. You can opt to take a guided tour to learn more about the area’s history or you can wander around the remains at your own pace for free. "
" It is housed within the renovated Mercat del Born, a historic market building. The center offers exhibitions, workshops, and events that explore the history of Barcelona, particularly the events of the 1714 Siege of Barcelona during the War of the Spanish Succession. It provides insight into the city's past and serves as a hub for cultural activities and education."
