"My kids love love the Academy of Sciences! You will too!. You do not need to buy your tickets ahead of time. You can buy them there at the front doors. (There is a parking garage you can park in if you are driving) The Academy of Sciences used to (they may still) have a backpack with explorer kits - you ask at the coat check area on the left when you first walk in. Your kids will get a backpack that has a magnifying glass, scavenger hunt book, and explorer vest to wear. It is really cute and my kids used to love doing this on our visits. We did it so much we haven't recently - which is why I do not know if they still do this or not. It was also FREE. Make sure you take time and let your kids play outside in the Wander Woods area. There is a cafeteria with food for if someone is hungry or thirsty. "
