" Old turf church - When you see a sign on the left-hand side saying Gröf, take a left turn. The turf church will be visible from the road. If you zoom into the black trim around the roof line, you will see an intricate old Norse design. This was the handiwork of Guðmundur Guðmundsson, the woodworker who built the church in the 1600’s. This place is easily missed, but it’s worth a stop if you’re traveling the Tröllaskagi peninsula, just south of Hofsós. "
