Puk's Palace

"Puk's Palace is exactly what you're looking for when you arrive to the south of Thailand -- it's right on the beach. There is a beach bar, daybeds and hammocks all around, and two bulldogs always meandering around. While this wasn't my favorite place we stayed, I know many people stayed and loved it! The big issue (for me personally) was that they only had the AC on at night in the dorm rooms, so there was no where to go when you needed to escape the heat and cool down a bit. There also isn't a lot of privacy in the dorm rooms -- but hey, it's a hostel! "
