What people say

"Castello di Verrazzano is a world-renowned winery with an unexpected connection to the United States, that sits at the top of a hill in the Chianti Classico countryside, in between Florence and Panzano in Chianti. Initially the Castle was an Etruscan and then a Roman settlement. There is a great tradition of winemaking here: the “vineyards situated in Verrazzano” are mentioned in a manuscript which dates back to 1150 and is preserved at the nearby abbey of Passignano. Today’s vineyards were reimplanted by the Cappellini Family starting from 1958, and they extend from the limit of the woods to the whole underlying valley, within borders unchanged from centuries. They offer many different combinations of guided tours and tastings, please check the link below for an in-depth look at each experience and to make a booking. Castello di Verrazzano also has a restaurant on site, and an agriturismo (Foresteria Castello di Verrazzano) nearby, if you’re looking for a lovely accommodation in the Chianti hills. "
"Castello di Verrazzano is one of the most well-known vineyards in Tuscany for two reasons: the wide selection of wine produced here, and the stunning panoramic views of Tuscany. Castello di Verrazzano also offers a wide selection of their own Chianti wine, a type of wine strictly produced in Tuscany. Tours of their winery, tastings and pairings are available for purchase. Tours of the winery begin at €28 per person. "
"Home to Giovanni da Verrazzano. Verrazzano Bridge in NY! He sailed with Amerigo Vespucci who lived on the hill above Greve, Montefioralle. His statue is in the center of the piazza in Greve. A great informative wine tour, but also of their villa, gardens and wine cellar of the castle and their balsamic vinegar production. Small tasting tour or you can book a full meal."
