Franciscan Gardens

What people say

Melanie Mallory
"Mel says: Lovely and peaceful garden hidden behind passageways. From the garden you have a nice view of the 14th century Gothic church, Our Lady of the Snows. The church was intended to be three times the length you see, but the construction was interrupted by the Hussite Wars in the early 15th century, and even after the wars ended, the construction never began again. This church is this nearly taller than it is long and has the tallest altar in the country inside. To enter the church, exit the gardens past the Film Museum (NaFilM) and you'll find the church's entrance is in a courtyard behind the statue of Josef Jungmann, on Jungmann Square."
