Wiktoria Górska-Kijanka
"The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saints Vitus, Wenceslaus, and Adalbert, also known as St. Vitus Cathedral, is the Prague Archbishop's residence. Construction began in 1344, with King John laying the foundation stone and Charles IV, King of Bohemia and future Holy Roman Emperor, as the main patron. Intended as a coronation church, family crypt, and treasury, the cathedral's first master builder was Matthias of Arras. He completed the choir's eastern sections, noted for its rigorous proportions and slender Late French Gothic style."
