What people say

"These 13th century dated Roman wells are situated 40 min by vehicle from the city of Split and are very pitoresque day getaway. Their name is Rajčica (better to pronounce it Rai-tschi-tsa, although the name has english meaning of tomato :D). The legend says these wells have never been dried and the local people call it the Stonehenge of Dalmatian Zagora. There is one road that leads to the wells, one part is macadam road and after the road, there is a hundred meters of the path which has signalization and is walkable. It is recommended going on the right after the village of Brštanovo and climbing the macadam road from the east side, as that part of the road is easier for driving, no holes on the road as from the western, shorter side of the road (village Matasi). Car is possible to leave at the end of the road, near the walkable path. This is amazing place for picnic and taking some interesting photos, as the grass is not huge around the wells. On the other hand, all other is not recommended for visiting due to the non walkable paths. In hot sunny days, don't forget to bring a lot of water, sun and insect protection. No phone chargers over there so prepare the battery for your phone in advance. Please do not forget to pick the garbage up after visiting. :) "
