What people say

"Janganmun, the north gate of Hwaseong Fortress, symbolizes "perpetual peace" and was built in 1794. This gate features a stone arch, a two-story wooden pavilion, and a semi-circular brick wall for defense. Unlike traditional fortresses where the south gate is primary, King Jeongjo's route from the capital made Janganmun the main gate. The wooden pavilion was destroyed during the Korean War but was reconstructed in 1975."
