"Windsor Great Park in Berkshire stands as the lush, green backdrop for many romantic scenes in season two of the show. It is featured in the hunting scene, the horseback riding scene in the rain, and when Kate falls off her horse. Originally a private hunting ground for Windsor Castle, the 4,800-acre royal park, filled with ancient forests, grasslands, lakes, and gardens, is now open to the public. The park is also home to over 500 free-roaming red deer. Some scenes were filmed with the aid of a large rain machine and a mechanical horse. Other locations like London's Battersea Fields and Rotten Row, North London's Hampstead Heath, and Primrose Hill are represented in the show but were actually filmed in Windsor Great Park and other locations such as Somerley House in Hampshire and Painshill park in Cobham."
