The Middle East is a remarkable region. The cradle of civilization to the crossroads of East and West, the region has so much to offer. Unfortunately, instability and war makes travel to some countries like Iraq and Syria impossible and to others like Lebanon and Israel/Palestine challenging.

In steps Jordan: the most stable country in the Middle East and maybe the safest country I've ever visited. I had the amazing opportunity to spend three months living in Amman and exploring all around the country. 

While Jordan may not be quite as culturally rich as its neighbors, there are a lot of amazing sights to explore. Petra's ancient facades speaks for themselves. The sandy dunes and alien-like rock formations of Wadi Rum is (literally) the movie image of Mars. The Dead Sea is a buoyant and beautiful place. And this only cracks the surface.

Egypt & Jordan - considered two unbelievable wonders of the world - provide thousands of years of history.

This 14-day itinerary has been put together based on a group trip I led for clients back in 2022. It was my 2nd time to Egypt and my first-time to Jordan - both countries should definitely be visited.

The itinerary is set-up in a way that you could separate out each country if your schedule only allows for minimal travel days. So in essence, you get 2 country itineraries for the price of 1! 

Throughout you will experience a dramatic world beyond what you can think, as you enter into two countries filled with legends, history, and indescribable natural beauty.

Mount Nebo

Mount Nebo is one of the most important Christian pilgrimage sites in Jordan. However, the sight is also important to Jews and Muslims, as its significance relates to Moses.

Mount Nebo is the place Moses first saw the "promised land" after his followers left Egypt. Today, there is a very modern church filled with Madaba style mosaics and art. Around the premise there is also a number of historic mosaics, making visiting Mount Nebo a bit akin to a museum. The real star of the show is the striking view looking out onto the western bank of the Jordan River and the Judean desert. 

❗️ Arrive early while the temperatures are low and before all the tour buses arrive.
📷 Get a family snap with the Serpentine Cross while you take in the views across the Jordan River Valley, the Dead Sea, Jericho and Jerusalem. 
📷 Cool off inside the recently constructed Basilica. Built over the ancient Byzantine Church which houses remnants of just some of the many mosaics Madaba, “the city of mosaics”, is famous for.

Can you find the tree of life? Name all the animals in the floor mosaic.

The view is breathtaking from this mountain! You will find many ancient monuments around the mountain as well!
