"Noble Experiment was one of the "mainstream" speakeasies in San Diego. It's hidden gem in San Diego's East Village, is an embodiment of a true speakeasy. This upscale cocktail bar is nestled within Neighborhood, a bustling trendy American eatery. The entrance is intriguingly concealed behind a wall of kegs near the bathrooms, adding an extra layer of mystery to your visit.
To gain access to this secretive spot, you must have a reservation that can be made via text. The reservation system adds to the bar's allure, and since Noble Experiment tends to fill up quickly, it's advised to make your reservation a week in advance.
The cocktails here are worth the planning and the price. They have a rotating menu of both innovative and classic cocktails. Fan favorites often include drinks like "The Art of War," a unique blend of mezcal, chili-infused aperol, and blood orange liqueur. Cocktails are typically between $14-$16, reflecting the high quality of the ingredients and craftsmanship involved.
The bar’s interior is intimate and stunning, featuring a wall decorated with golden skulls, and Victorian-style seating that lends an air of antiquated elegance. It's worth noting that Noble Experiment maintains a sophisticated atmosphere, with house rules to preserve the experience - these include no flash photography and a limit on party size.
